MANNER OF YOUTH
Sir, —• , Your correspondent, "Nancy complained in yesterday’s paper about men neglecting to take off their hats in public lifts. A lift’s a lift, anyway —not a temple, and I can’t see anj reason for the absurd convention. U is all very well to talk of gallantry, put it is a poor quality compared witn honouring the aged. I’ve a pretty long memory, but I can’t remember haying seen a flapper give up her seat in a crowded tram to an aged man or woman. Minor gallantry is called and my motto is: "Take care of the old folk.” „ _ CUTHFERT K.
