NEW REGENT
NEW PROGRAMME TO-MORROW This evening: will see the final presentation at the New Regent Theatre of the current programme, which includes “Just Married,” a comedy starring Ruth Taylor and James Hall, together with the stage band presentation entitled “Life on the High Seas.” “Loves of an Actress,” the most dramatic and spectacular production Pola Negri has ever made, despite the success of “Passion” and other big pictures, is the big pictorial attraction coming to the New Regent tomorrow. “Loves of an Actress” provides Miss Negri with a great role, a role that calls for real acting ability. She interprets the part of Rachel, one of the great figures of all time on the stage, a celebrated French tragedienne, whose life and loves were full of tragedy and poignant drama. Miss Negri does her work admirably. She displays talents never before seen in her productions. A second pictorial attraction will be “The Water Hole,” an exciting Zane Grey story of the West, in which Jack Holt has the leading role. An entirely new stage band entertainment will also be presented, entitled “Bells and Bathing Belles,” with new items by the popular Sydney Ballet and new music by Mr. Maurice Guttridge’s orchestra.
