RIALTO, AND REGENT, EPSOM
“GOOD MORNING, JUDGE” In “Good Morning. Judge,” now at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom), Theatres, Reginald Denny suffers the fate of an innocent bystander at a “free-for-all” among the spectators at a prize fight. Although he has more money than he knows what to do with, lie cannot pay his fine when brought before the judge next morning for “disturbing the peace.” His wallet has been stolen. A beautiful welfare worker and owner of a mission for reformed criminals pays his fine and Denny falls in love with her. He confesses to numerous crimes so that he may remain near her in the mission. When he protects her from several of the unreformed criminals she has harboured, the girl learns of his real identity. The romance goes on, however, and the final scenes show them in each others arms. Beautiful and blonde Mary Nolan appears opposite Denny. “Stop That Man,” a comedy of a youth who wore his brother’s police uniform, is the second feature. John Boles, well-known leading man of the musical comedy stage, has been signed by Universal to a five-year contract. Boles’s splendid speaking and singing voice makes him a valuable addition to the ranks of stars on the Universal lot, making “Talkies.” He has just completed the principal male role opposite Laura La Plante in Paul Leni’s production. “The Last Warning.”
