PRICES REMAIN FIRM ( A-ustra lian aa d X. Z. Press A ssocia tion) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. At the wool sales, 9,978 bales were offered, of which 5.096 were Australian and 3.952 New Zealand. There was a large selection of Merinos, mostlv of a second-hand and miscellaneous character a good offering of slipes and a moderate lot of greasy crossbreds. M ith the Home trade competing freely I vere fe \Y withdrawals, and prices - New Zealand: St. Helens, 22d top. 20d average.
