NAVY BEATS CABLEMEN AT CRICKET
A combined Navy cricket team beat Pacific Cable Board yesterday at Victoria Park by 129 runs. The cablemen scored 72, Killwortn (18) being the highest scorer. Wade was easily the most successful bowler for the Navy, taking five wickets for 17 runs. Combined Navy replied with 201 runs, Langley 40, Wade 36, Morris 36, Callaghan 33 and Robertson 20. Bowling for the Cable Board, Killworth took five wickets for 60. THEATRES’ FRIENDLY GAME In a match between the St. James and Regent Theatres yesterday, the Opera House won by 117 runs. St. James’ scored 191 (Newdick 62 and Robertson 47), and the Regent 74 and 52 for four (Guttridge 29 and 10, Anthony 16 and 17). Fuller took two wickets for 9 runs.
