C.A.C. TROPHY MATCH
(From Our Own Correspondent) THAMES, Monday. There was only a moderate attendance of clay bird shooters at the fortnightly shoot of the Thames Gun Club last Saturday. The shooting, owing to a white glare, was not up to the high standard of the club’s shoots; nevertheless the competitions were colsely contested. The chief event was Colonial Ammunition Companj-’s bi-yearly shoot, a trophy which has to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals. Dr. Liggins was the holder, but after Saturdays competition had to hand over the cup to Mr. W. R Smith, who by winning the event got a leg in for the double. Results: No. 1 Sweepstake. 7 birds—>\ S. Miller and E. Thornton shot the possible and divided the stakes. No. 2 Shoot tßenshaw’s trophy), 7 birds —F. S. Miller, 1: W. ??. Smith. S. Sparke and E. Thornton tied for second. C.A.C. Cup, 1(» birds—W. R. Smith. 1: S. Sparke. 2; E. Thornton and G. Shaw tied for third place. Double-rise Sweep, b birds.—Dr. Liggins, 1; G. Shaw and W. R. Smith tied for 2nd. Oimcrack Sweep, 7 birds — G. Shaw. E. Thornton and W. R. Smith tied, and in the shoot-off the order was Shaw, 1; Thornton, 2; Smith, 3.
