SMITHFIELD PRICES The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cablegram from its London office dated November 30, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for the week ending that date as follows: New Zealand Wethers and Maidens.— Canterbury quality: Selected brands, 561 b and under, 6*d a lb; 571 b to 641 b, 6.1 d; 651 b to 721 b, 6d; other brands, 561 b and under, 6 l-8d; 571 bto 641 b, 6d; 651 b to 721 b. 52d. New Zealand Ewes.—64lb and under, 4Jd. New Zealand Lambs.—Canterbury quality: 361 b and under, 93d; 371 b to 421 b, 93d; 431 b to 501 b, 9id: seconds, 8d: selected brands, 361 b and under, 9d; 371 b to 421 b, 9 5-Sd; other brands, second quality. 301 b to 421 b, average, 73d. Australian Lambs. —Victorian, first quality: 371 b to 421 b, 9 3-Sd. Argentine Lambs.—First quality: 361 b and under, Sd: 371 b to 421 b, Bd. New Zealand Beef.—Ox fores, 3 7-8 d; hinds, sd; cow fores, 3Jd; hinds, 4id. Argentine Chilled Beef.—Ox fores, 43d; hinds, 6 1-Sd. Lamb.—The market is slow especially for secondary lamb, owing to competition from new season’s Australian and Argentine. Mutton Market.—There is a slightly better demand for ewes. There is a slow demand for wethers. Beef.—The market is firm with light stocks. New Zealand Porker Pigs.—The market is quiet, but steady. Large supplies of Home-killed continue. AUCTION NOTES George Walker, Ltd., wil sell by public auction, to-morrow, at 11 a.m., at their new premises, next to Smith and Caughey, general household furnishings, and at 1 o’clock will conduct a piano sale.
