PROFITS FROM DAIRYING

INCREASE IN PRODUCTION An indication of the increase in production of dairy produce registered to date this season can be taken from the fact that 12 dairy companies operating in the Waikato, not including -hose controlled by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., whose figures are not available, have made advances to shareholders for butter-fat supplied during the month of October aggregating £155,966, an increase of £29,572 over the total advances by the same companies for October, 1927. The advances for the five months of the current season ending October 31, totalled £334,619, as against £260,744 for the corresponding period last year, an increase of £73,875. The pay-out for October of this year was based on Is 4d and Is 5d a lb, but-ter-fat, for butter, and Is 6d and Is 7d a lb butter-fat for cheese.
