CHILDREN ENTERTAINED The students of the Auckland Train- , ing College ana the pupils of the i Normal School, accompanied by the 1 principal of the college. Mr. Cousins. | , received a royal welcome from the j eighty-odd children of the Papatoetoe : Orphans Home on Saturday afternoon. I ; when they journeyed to the home to I Pay their annual Christmastide visit | Unable to constrain their emotion, the children cast conventions to the wind j and greeted the visitors with the j greatest enthusiasm. Immediately on their arrival the students distributed balloons and j organised community games on the j spacious and trim lawns, to the delight ! of the kiddies. Mr. Cousins explained the reason of their visit and after wishing the children a merry Christmas, assisted by the pupils he distributed toys among the young folk. Lollie scrambles added gaiety to the afterneon. A cricket match was played between the boys of the home and the students and the girls indulged in basketball tn U ? n £ of the Nor mal School, visitors r l K lne . their departure the h' m- sf heartily thanked for their tr ™ DeSS and generosity by the. Matron, Miss Ada Hooker. The staff of the home served afternoon tea on the lawns.
