‘THE CARDBOARD LOVER” An amusing comedy drama of rival affections, set against the colourful background of fashionable Monte Carlo is “The Cardboard Lover,” now at the Lyric Theatre. Marion Davies is the star, and appears with all her noted beautiful gowns and bright humorous sayings. The story concerns a modern American schoolgirl and a beautiful and sophisticated woman, who are

The woman of the world, played by Jetta Goudal, pits her experience against the unaffected charm of the girl, played by Marion Davies, and bright amusing comedy is the result. Nils Asther appears as the bone of contention —the tennis player. Sport, romance and the merry times of college life form the background of the second picture, “Playing Through.’* Bobby Agnew and Pauline Taron have student roles, and humour is supplied by Ben Turpin.
