CALL TO HASTINGS

REV. E. NICHOLLS ACCEPTS A call to the Hastings Baptist Church has been accepted by the pastor of the Ponsonby Baptist Church, the Rev. E. Nicholls, who will take up his new charge at the end of February. Although he has resigned his Ponsonby pastorate he will not leave Auckland until he goes to Hastings. During his 18 years in New Zealand, Mr. Nicholls has been in Auckland for seven years. Coming from Timaru, he was stationed at Milford Church for five years, transferring from there to Ponsonby. At one time Mr. Nicholls was a member of the London Metropolitan Police Force, and he has amused Auckland audiences with accounts of experiences during his service. In addition to his charge at Ponsonby Mr. Nicholls has been actively interested in church work. For a term he was president of the Auckland Ministers’ Associaticn. the Auckland auxiliary of the Baptist Union, and the Christian Endeavour Union.
