RICH IN “ATMOSPHERE”

LITTLE THEATRE PRODUCTIONS I£ the Little Theatre Society sets out to attain certain effects it usually does so with undeniable success. Its present production, the last of this season s achievements, is a superlative example of excellence in stage direction. The programme consists of three plays. Each is richly redolent in “atmosphere.” First iSt the poignant expression of patriotism and idealism, now slightly misty, stirred by the “Maid of Orleans.” Then follows a piece of stark terror. Darkness and fearstricken voices, grim thunder and the sound of rushing waters: nothing more, but it is enough. Finally there is one of Milne’s delightful comedi.-s, excellently played. The society will conclude its season this evening.
