WELLINGTON’S BIG GAIN Press Association WELLINGTON. Friday. The customs revenue collected at Wellington for November was £274,091, compared with £198,983 for November, 1927. The beer duty amounted to £4,422, compared with £5,297 last November. The motor spirit tax yielded £ 33,651 and the tyre tax £ 8,246. ALL-ROUND INCREASE Press Association * ( DUNEDIN, Friday. Following is a comparison of duties received at the Port of Dunedin for November, 1928, and November, 1927: Customs, £76,972 and £53,519; beer, £49,497 and £19,235; tyres, £804; motor spirit, £3,740. BEER DUTY DECREASE Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The customs returns for Christchurch for November total £101,785, compared with £81!,275 in November last year. The beer duty was £6,649, compared with £8.910. The motor spirit tax amounted to £10,606, and the tyre tax yielded £l,OlB.
