REPARATIONS PROBLEM

BRITISH REPLY SENT (Australian end N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Thursday. Britain's draft reply to Germany on the subject of reparation has been communicated to France, Italy and Belgium. It is understood to be the work of Mr. Winston Churchill, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the Treasury, not of the Foreign Office. The draft contains brief answers to the five points raised in the German memorandum. It is believed that it inclines generally to the German viewpoint. It is not certain jet whether the draft will become a joint reply, or form the basis of identic Notes.
