A 36-hole stroke competition for the professional golf championship of New South Wales entered upon the semifinals stage to-day on the Australian links, Kensington. W. J. Clark. Holder of the Stale title, having defeated F. Popplewell, open champion of Australia, by three and two, he tried conclusions to-day with Lon Spence, the young Leura professiona 1. Spence eventually won in great style by two'up and one. The other semi-final was between Frank Eyre and Arthur Spence. The laiter won by two up. The final will be played on Saturday.
