RIALTO, AND REGENT, EPSOM
“THE NIGHT BRIDE” Most modern pictures end with a marriage ceremony, but in “The Nigh: Bride*” starring Marie Prevost, now at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom) Theatres, the procedure is reversed. Instead of ending with a wedding, the picture starts with one. The heroine of the story is not featured in the ceremony. Rather it is that just as the ceremony is about to begin. the bride discovers the man she is to wed making love to her 6ister. who is one of the bridesmaids. Then things begin to move. The humorous and thrilling complications which follow and which eventually end in a wedding make this comedy one of the keenest of all Prevost starring vehicles. Harrison Ford again appears opposite the star. “The Leopard Lady,” a picture of murder, mystery and circus life, starring Jacqueline Logan, is also being shown. Estelle Brody created a spirited role in Maurice Elvey’s brilliant production, “Mademoiselle Parley Voo.” This vivacious artiste has never looked back since the famous producer of “Mademoiselle from Armentieres” chose her to “star” in that successful film. John Stuart, another Maurice Elvey find, has also reaped one success after another. He gives a particularly fine performance in “Mademoiselle Parley Voo.”
