Hunt, S.M., to Sydney Urwin, who was charged at the Police Court this morning with fighting with Frederick Bird. Bird and Urwin, who appeared on summons, both pleaded not Mr. F. W. He and Mrs. Bird were separated, but she had asked him to take her back again and was to have rejoined him on the previous evening. He approached the couple and asked his wife why she had not come home, as she had promised. Urwin had then attacked him. Mr. Schramm told quite a different story of behalf of Urwin. Urwin, who had been on his way to work, was walking along with Mrs. Bird, when Bird had approached them, swearing. He had knocked both Urwin and his wife down. Mrs. Bird supported Urwin’s story, and the magistrate dismissed the case against him. Biid was fined £l. “You had better get a Avife of your oaa'h if you want to avoid this sort of thing,” remarked the magistrate to Urwin. “It is dangerous to have anything to do with other men’s Avi\ r es."
