KEPT FIRM’S LETTER
OFFICE GIRL GIVEN CHANCE MEANT TO BE JOKE A girl, aged 18, who retained one of tier employer's letters containing monev intended for a client, was given a chance at the Police Court this morning . The girl admitted that she had not posted the letter, but had destroyed it spending the 25s it contained. It was explained that the girl had merely intended the affair to be a joke as the addressee of the letter was a friend of hers, but, when a detective came to make inquiries, she remained silent, frightened at the probable consequences of her act. The firm still had confidence in her and was prepared to take her back. file girl was ordered to come up for tence when called upon. That really means that you are on probation,” remarked Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., as the girl left the dock. The magistrate suppressed her name.
