WAITING FOR THE BREEZE
two engagements at Takapuna to-morrow. Becalmed should run well in whichever race she is sent for. Possibly her objective will be the Takapuna Plate, in which event she should stand a chance, although it is a pretty difficult race for a maiden performer to tackle. The half-sister to Stormy has an earlier engagement, in the Melrose Maiden, and her owner would appear to be missing a golden opportunity if she is reserved for the later race. It might be a case of leaving the substance and chasing the shadow, but the owner of Becalmed should be the best judge, and backers will await his lead with interest.
