MR. R. H. CAMBAGE, OF N.S.W. Reed. 11.5 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. Tlie death has occurred of Mr. R. H. Cambage, the distinguished scientist. He was formerly Under-Secre-tary of Mines for New South Wales. His age was G 9. Air. Richard Hind Cambage was born in New South Wales in 1559. He became a surveyor, and was president of the Institution of Surveyors, 1007-00. He was Under-Secretary for Alines, l'jlti--21. He has written a great deal on botanical subjects, largely in connection with the relation between the native flora and the geological formations on which it grows. lie was president of the Royal Society of Australia in 1012, and was elected a Fellow of the Linnean' Society in 1004. *
