“THE NIGHT BRIDE”
A most laughable comedy of the trials of a girl, “The Night Bride,” is now being shown at the Plaza and Tivoli Theatres this evening. Marie Prevost has the leading role, that of Cynthia, who is engaged to marry Addison Walsh. Just before the hour set foi nuptials she finds him in the arms o; her sister, Rcne< Stockton. Telling them that the} and not she ough to be married Cynthia, a.rrayef ill her trousseau escapes through f window and quit; the vicinity in he automobile whil» her father and wedding guests commence a search for her. When she reaches the house of a friend named Warrington, her car runs out of benzine. Leaving the car, Cynthia goes to the dark house and finding a cellar window' open, she jumps into a coal bin and makes her way to a bedroom above. Arraying herself in Warrington’s pyjamas, she goes to bed. Warrington and Biggies return from a fishing expedition and, tracing coalmarked footprints up to the bedroom, they discover a huddled form beneath the quilts. Biggies leaps upon the intruder, and in the ensuing struggle Cynthia is revealed. Horrified, Warrington begs her to return home, but she refuses. They are interrupted by the arrival of Cynthia’s father. Cynthia declares that she and Warrington have just been married. Further complications set in when the father decides to stay the night and on the morrow see them off on t a world tour, his wedding gift. The Leopard Lady,” a story of. mystery, thrills and circus life, is the second attraction. Jacqueline Logan is the star in this production.
Evelyn Brent has been assigned to play the chief feminine part in a new feature production to be filmed by Paramount and directed by Lewis Milestone, director of ‘“The Racket,” starring Thomas Meighan. Xo title has yet been given to the picture.
