MORE McLAGLEN PICTURES
Victor McLaglen has just been signed to a new Fox contract for a long term of years. It stipulates that his next four pictures will be called the “Victor McLaglen series,” the first classification of the kind ever accorded to a star of the company. This was a direct result of his -work in “A Girl in Every Port,” and ’‘Hangman’s House.” The four selections for the McLaglen series are “The River Pirate,” “The Baggage Smasher,” “All Velvet,” and “Captain Lash.” In two years this Englishman, who adventured over the world before entering filmdom, has had a remarkable rise in popularity, beginning with his portrayal as Captain Flagg in “What Price Glory?”
One of the featured players in the Nancy Carroll —Richard Arlen cofeaturing picture for Paramount, “Manhattan Cocktails,” is Paul Lukas. Lukas is a well-known Hungarian actor who was recently signed by Paramount. He plays the part of a theatrical manager.
