FAREWELL TO VICAR
THREE YEARS IN DARGAVILLE Rev. G. P. Morris, vicar of the Holy Trinity Parish, Dargaviile, for a little over three years, who is leaving to take over his new charge at Waiuku, conducted a farewell service on Sunday evening, when the local church was filled to its utmost capacity. The vicar expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the personnel of the vestry, the church wardens and the congregation for their assistance to him in his work during his period of office in the parish, and expressed the hope that the same generous support would be accorded his successor, Rev. W. Fussell. Under the baton of Mr. B. S. Angus, the choir rendered Maunder’s evening service and appropriate hymns and psalms. At the conclusion of the service the people’s warden, Mr. Gerald Dunn, made a presentation to Mr. Morris, on behalf of the parishioners, of a travelling rug and a set of ivory-backed hair brushes in a crocodile skin case, and at the same time made feeling reference to the good wofK of the vicar during his term in charg£ of the parish, and to the affection which he had inspired among the parishioners. Mr. Morris suitably replied. During last week Mrs. G. P. was presented by the Holy Trinity Choren Guild with a pair of unique copper as a memento of happy times spent o> recipient and donors in Dargaviile.
