Mr. la. E. Strachan, of arrived in Auckland this morning. The Rev. H. B. Hughes arrived in Auckland this morning from Napier. Dr. E. H. B. Mi Isom left by the Limited last evening for Wanganui. Mr. B. Kay and Mr. R. Knight left by the Marama yesterday for Sydney. Professor H. Belshaw returned to Auckland to-day, after visiting the South. Sir George Elliot returned to Auckland to-day by the Limited from Wellington. Sir George Fowlds, who has been visiting Palmerston North, returned to Auckland this morning. Mr. H. G. R. Mason. M.P., who has been visiting Wellington, returned to Auckland this morning. Mr. Irving Carney, of Christchurch, arrived in Auckland to-day. and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. B. Donald, M.P., returned from Wellington this morning, after attending a conference of the United Party. Major-General W. Lassiter, of the U.S.A., arrived in Auckland this morning. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Sir Dudley de Chair, Governor of Nevr South Wales, was received by the Duke of York at London, prior to his departure for Sydney yesterday. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, who has been attending a meeting of the Dominion Council of the Boy Scouts in Wellington, returned toA uckland this morning. Mr. B. Gotlieb, a member of the United States Consulate-General in Wellington, is visiting Auckland. He is staying at the Royal Hotel. The Earl of Liverpool, formerly Governor-General of New Zealand, accompanied by Lady Liverpool, sailed yesterday from Britain for New Zealand by the Remuera. Mr. E. Casey, divisional superintendent of railways, with Mr. G. S. Lynde, chief mechanical engineer, travelled by the Limited to Wellington last evening. Mr. James Storrie, of Christchurch, who was taken ill at Wellington when on his way to the Presbyterian General Assembly, was accorded a motion, of sympathy by the assembly to-day.
