FIRE FOLLOWS EXPLOSION
A spirit stove exploded in Christchurch yesterday, causing a fire which destroyed £250 worth of floor-polish-ing apparatus in the “Litewurk” Floor Polishing Company’s premises in Cashel Street. The spirit flamed up and ignited the cotton-waste in which some goods were packed. The brigade extinguished the fire with chemicals. — P.A.
