! RECORD BLOOMS AND VEGETABLES JUDGE’S HIGH PRAISE Under ideal wean;or conditions and with record entries the Waiuku Summer Show was held in the Public Hall on Wednesday . As usual the roses were the chief ati traction, and made a great display, but cut flowers were also shown in excellent quality, also the garden produce, which was far in advance of previous years, and competition was very keen. Mr. 1). Hay and Mr. G. Mills, who judged all the classes, except the school entries, favourably commented on the show, the former remarking that it was the best lie had seen in Waiuku. In the school work, Mr. Brown, who made the awards, had a difficult task in finding the winners, ns some of the classes had 39 and 33 entries. SOUTH ISLAND AWARDS OTAGO A. AND P. SHOW Press Association DUNEDIN", Thursday. The annual summer show of the Otago A. and P. Society was concluded to-day in good, weather. The attendance was about 11,000 and the gate takings £482. Entries were better than for the last show and the quality of stock, especially sheep, showed a great improvement. South Island championships were awarded as follow'— Friesians, male: W. Y. Dickie and Sons, Mataura; female, T. R. Eudes, Edendale. Ayrshire, male: Gillies’ Dros., Hampden; female, A. E.
