CABLE-RADIO MERGER
FRENCH NEGOTIATIONS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) PARIS, Tuesday. The officials of the Radio France and of the French Cable Company admit that they are negotiating with a view to a merger, similar to the British agreement, but have not yet reached an agreement. The Radio France controls radio communication with Britain, Austria, Spain, Rumania, Norway and Czechoslovakia. The cable company controls the former German cable to New York, which was awarded to France under the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.
