THIEVES’ GANG
GAOLED AT PALMERSTON N. Press Association PALMERSTON N., To-day. At the Supreme Court at Palmerston North yesterday, before Mr. Justice Smith, Keith Drysdale, aged 19, a labourer, Allan Drysdale, aged 18, a motor mechanic, James Leonard Webb, aged 20, a labourer, Howard Kenneth Stratton, aged 20, farmer, and William Rikihara, aged 27, storeman, were sentenced for breaking and entering and theft at Levin. Keith Drysdale, described as the ringleader, was sentenced to three years’ detention in a Borstal Institution, Stratton to three years probation, Allan Drysdale, two years probation, W r ebb, three years probation, and Rikihara, two years reformative detention. An order was made for the restitution of the stolen property and payment of the cost of the prosecution.
