“VAMPING VENUS” AT ROYAL

The merry comedy, “Vamping Venus,” starring Louise Fazenda and Charlie Murray, will be shown at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland, this evenimpressive sets were made and hundreds of extras used for the ancient Greece sequences in this picture, a story of a New York politician to-day who takes an imaginary trip to anicent Athens in the height of its glory. While the picture is intended primarily for laughing purposes, and serves those purposes well, it is also an artistic triumph for First National with scenes that fairly dazzle the eye. Charlie Murray demonstrates that he is one of the funniest comedians on the screen. “Shepherd of the Hills.” from the famous Harold Bell Wright story, is the second feature.

The cast of the Cooper-Schoedsack picture for Paramount, “Four Feathers,” has been strengthened by the addition of Noah Beery, who will play the part of a slaye dealer in the picture. The studio scenes will be woven into thrilling pictures obtained by the adventurers in the wilderness of the Sudan. Richard Arlen has the male lead and Fay Wray will be the leading woman.
