With such a brigade, he added, Hamilton had nothing to tear from fire. * * * Tl * e T 9 wn Ha ll, Hamilton, was filled on Tuesday evening, when the Claudelands Boy Scouts and Wolf Cubs gave an interesting concert and demonstration. The Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, referred in appreciative terms to the work of t “ e Claudelands troop and of the efforts of the Rev. J. Rich, scoutmaster, and Miss E. Greville, cubmistress. The programme included songs, physical exercises and bridge-building, first aid, signalling and fire rescue demonstrations. The concluding item was a series of jungle dances by the cubs. A farewell was tendered the Rev. J. Rich, curate at Claudelands, prior to his departure for Merivale, Christchurch. Mr. Rich, who was responsible for the organisation and training of the Claudfclands troop, was presented with a travelling rug by the scouts. * * * A donation of £IOO has been received by the Bishop of Waikato from the Dean and Chapter of York for St. Peter’s I Cjatliedral, Hamilton.
