WEISMULLER’S VISIT

TENTATIVE ARRANGEMENTS Tentative arrangements for tho visit to Auckland of Johnnie Weismuller, tho American swimmer, were made at last evening’s meeting of the Auckland Swimming Centre. A programme was'drawn up. and admission charges were fixed at 2s 6d for adults and Is for children. The centre is awaiting definite advice from the New Zealand Council concerning Weismuller’s plans. Applications were granted the following clubs for the holding of carnivals: Parnell, December 1; Grammar, December 12; Mount Eden. December 17; Waitemata, December 18; and Helensville, December 22. The draw for the opening of the water polo season was fixed as under: Waitemata A v. Gramnfar, Parnell v. Devonport, Ponsonby B v. Mount Eden, Ponsonby Av. Waitemata B. Messrs. L. Brighton and 11. Sheffield were appointed referees.
