High scores. Suburban Cricket Association supporters bad something to revel in at the Domain on Saturday afternoon. They saw numerous glimpses of first-class batting. They saw, further, tho Harbour Board team scurrying frantically as tho Ponsonby batsmen did very nearly as they pleased with tho bowling. The crowd was appreciative. It was not slow to realise that it was somewhat unusual for Harbour Board to be properly outplayed. . * * It was a batsman’s wicket, and big scores were inevitable. The scoring was slow at first, through the obvious caution of the batsmen. By midafternoon they found that the bowling was losing its sting. Then enterprise revealed itself. Ponsonby, for the loss of eight wickets. riled on 344. Victoria put on a solid 258 against Green Lane, and Glen Eden scored 206 against Ellerslie. Harbour Board did not start its first try against Ponsonby. Glen Eden made a promising beginning and had one wicket down for 56 when stumps were drawn. Ellerslie did not do so well and had lost three wickets for 69. • . * Bob Innes. New Zealand Soccer representative, was the hero of the day. Por Ponsonby lie knocked up an impressive 113. The bowling did
not trouble him. With Barnes (61) ho found most of the weak spots and hit lustily at every opportunity. Three sixes came his way and 11 fours. It was the most interesting batting display seen this season on the Domain. The next best scorer, Hotelier (55), was very cautious.^ Victoria is doing well for a team just elevated to senior A cricket. It
