STRAND
“PRINCE OF ADVENTURERS” The gorgeous picture, “The 3?rince of Adventurers,” is now nearing the close of its season at the Strand Theatre, and lovers of the spectacular and picturesque should take this final opportunity of seeing it. It would be difficult to give an adequate description of this picture without the use of such words as “big,” “grand,” or “magnificent.” One wonderful scene follows another. The next big attraction at the Strand will be presented on Friday. This is the great drama of exploration in the frozen wastes, “Lost in the Arctic.” The briefest description that can be applied to “Lost in the Arctic” lis that it is an intensely dramatic pictorial record of the 1924 Arctic expedition. This hardly does credit to such an amazing film. It abounds in astounding details of life in the Northern Polar wastes, of gigantic icebergs, and of thrilling fights with Polar bears. One terrifying sequence shows close-ups of an 80ton whale lashing the water. One of the really outstanding features of this picture is the revelation made therein of the fate of the lost Stefannson explorers. It will be remembered that eight of Stefannson’s party left to walk across the ice but were never heard of again. Their remains were found on a blea.k rock known as Herald Island, and the actual scenes are shown in this picture.
