TRAFFIC COURTS BUSY
TWO DAYS' WORK IN ONE POLICE AND CITY CASES Both Police and Magistrate's Courts were occupied with traffic cases this morning until a late hour. Owing to the adjournment of all cases last Wednesday, election day, the lists were particularly heavy, and both Courts were still silting at noon. Mr. E. c. Cutten, S.M., presided over the Magistrate’s Court, and Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., over the Police Court. POLICE PROSECUTIONS Failing to give way to a vehicle on the- right cost Samuel Bradley £2 and costs, and Arthur L. Williams 10s and costs. George E. Fell was fined £2 ard costs for negligent driving. For driving without licences George E. Fell. Hurrv C. Char man, Herbert R. Key worth and James Shaw were fined 30s and costs. Henry Ernest lieed, George William Averlll and Lillie L. Taylor, who failed to report accidents, were each fined 10s and costs. Cutting corners cost Lillian Taylor £2 and costs, and Roy Hunt £1 and costs. For failing to notify a change of ownership, Horace AlcAlullen was fined 10s and costs. Albert Hiko, who passed between two vehicles, was fined £2 and costs. Being saved from disaster only by the prompt action of an engine-driver, Thomas A. Bullock was fined £3 and costs for crossing a railway-line when a train was approaching. Breaches of parking regulations cost Elsie H. Brook, David G. Caldwell, Lawrence R. Dickson, Frank A. Gi liman Louis Jenkinson, Edward J. Wright Charles S. Groot, Herbert Y. Gray and Olga Paykell 10s and costs each. Charles H. Lord, who drove without lights, was fined £1 and costs, and John Tv. Benny was fined 10s and costs for a. similar offence. Harold Davis was lined 10s and costs for riding a cycle without, lights. Fines of 5s and costs were imposed on Douglas Corringham, Sydney J. Elliott, William H. Jenkin George C. W. Money, John F. H. KicliLui Baewai, Joseph A*- Parkinson, Robert Rhodes, Arthur E. M. Rhind and Sydney B. Shepherd for driving without rear lights. CITY CASES Breaches of paring regulations cost Robert E. Alpe, Marjorie Coiebrook and Edgar Hartley McCall £l and costs each: Henry Thomas Read, Charles Dick McLean, K. B. Kerr-Hislop, Robert Cochrane Herbert Francis Pro thro, Charles Stanley ltenshaw, Marsden Dunninghani, Gordon Stuart Campbell, Janies Kirk” Ewen K. Clarke, Kooert H. Wood, William J antes Lopdeil, William Augustus Phillips, Walter Leslie, D. Harvie. Alan Bruce Nicholson, and William Frederick Lander were each fined lus and costs. Herbert Walker, who failed to obey a tiafhc officer, was fined £1 and costs. Dangerous driving cost S. Stevens £1 and costs. For turning to the right, John C. Litten was fined 10s and costs. Stan.ey Ronald Underwood, who passed a stationary tramcar, was lined los and costs. For driving without lights Herbert Victor Baker was fined £1 and costs. SUBURBAN CASES Mount Albert—For using footpaths for vehicles without having constructed crossings, Brian Allely, F. R. Allen, A. W. Patterson and A. E. Shedlock were fined 10s and costs. G. W. Taylor was ordered to pay costs. George Campbell and Basil Thomas were ordered to pay costs for speeding. Fi'ederick Herbert was fined 10s and costs for riding a bicycle on the footpath. For similar offences William J. Geard, F. G. Scott, Cyril Spicer and Douglas Thomson wei*e ordered to paycosts. New Lynn.—For dangerous driving W. M. Paul and Alfred Jones were fined £2 and costs. Both men were ordered to pay costs for driving without' licences. For having no heavy traffic licence A. W. Bryant was fined £1 and costs. J. Jackson was ordered to pay costs for failing to obey a traffic officer. D. J. King was ordered to pay costs for pillion-riding, and a similar penalty was imposed on H. F. Hill for riding a cycle without lights..
