AGAINST ROYALISTS
FRENCH CARDINAL’S ACTION NO MARRIAGES IN CHURCH Times Cable. LONDON, Monday. The Paris correspondent of “The Times” says Cardinal Dubois has issued an appeal to the members of the Royalist organisation, Action Francaise, who reside in his diocese. In this he explains that his instructions in regard to marriages have been modified in order to prevent a repetition of recent scenes in Paris churches when members of the Action Francaise were being married. Suqh marriages in future would not be celebrated in a church or a sacristy, but only at the house of the bride, in the presence of the local curate or vicar. Members are not to be allowed to belong to Roman Catholic societies or to subscribe to them. The cardinal points out that the newspaper “Action Francaise” continues to be sold at tjie doors of churches, and says he has ordered the clergy to inform their congregations at each celebration of Mass that they are forbidden to sell, buy, circulate or read that newspaper.
