DOMINION DELEGATES CONVENTION IN WASHINGTON Bound for America as New Zealand delegates to the International Aeronautical Convention to be held in Washington next month, Mr. H. R. Dix, of the Marlborough Aero Club, and Capt. N. H. Barlow, N.Z.A.F., of Christchurch, sailed from Auckland by the Aorangi this afternoon. Interviewed by a Sun man this morning, Capt. Barlow said that, according to the advice he had received, there would be at least 57 nations represented at the convention, which promised to be the greatest of its kind ever held. Both delegates representing the Dominion intend joining the steamer Ventura at Honolulu in order to join up with the two Australian representatives, one of whom is Colonel Brinsmead, the Director of Civil Aviation in the Commonwealth. The party will be met at San Francisco by American officials and will be transported by airplane to Chicago, where a will be spent in looking over one > the big aero shows. From Chicago the members of the party will fly to Washington to attend the Convention, which is expected to last about a week. After this it has been arranged for them to visit New York to # ‘end another big aero pageant, winch is being beld in connection with the Convention. During the remainder of their stay in the United States the Australian and New Zealand delegates will spend their time looking over the various big aviation works, such as the Wright and Fokkers factories. The Dominion delegates expect to arrive back some time in March.
