GUN CLUBS' SHOOTS
(From Our Own Correspondent) MORRINSVILLE, Monday. Following are the results of claybird shooting matches held by the Morrinsville Gun Club: First sweep, open, seven birds: C. McDavitt, possible. There were 15 shooter*. Second sweep, open, seven birds: E. Okane, J. Fitt. W. A. Robertson, possible. There were 21 shooters. Drysdale Cup, 10 birds each team: Morrinsville 1. Thames 2, Hamilton 2. Cup sweepstake, optional: M. A. Robertson, possible. Fourth sweep, club trophies- E. Thornton. rose bowl; F. Green, salad set. Ladies’ trophies: Mrs. Robertson, silver fruit stand: Mrs. W. R. Smith, silver fruit dish. Fifth sweep, seven Dirds: G. Shaw and Dr. Liggins, possible. There were 22 shooters. Sixth sweep, B** birds: A. Aitkin, possible; J. Fitt, W. R Smith, G. Shaw, five each, divide second. There were 13 shooters. Seventh sweep, seven birds: G. Shaw, possible; W. R Smith, J. Fitt, six each, divide second. There were nine shooters. TAUPO CLUB The Taupo Gun Club's annual shoot proved to be a great success. visitors were present from Auckland. Matamata, Okoroire, Taneatua, ana Taumarunui. A strong gale was blowing during the day, which, combined with heavy rain, made the conditions most difficult and unpleasant. The club’s trophy, a smoker’s outfit, was given for the best score on the day, being won by Semmens. of Taneatua, after shooting off with E. Green, both shooters having shot 50 birds out of 55.
