The Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Dr. K. Dean was a passenger from Wellington this morning on the Limited. si r . \V. Hill, manager of the Tourist Department at Rotorua, is spending his holidays in Auckland. Lieutenants J. C. Lyne and D. E. Trevarthen, of the Waikato Regiment, Pukekohe, have passed the necessary examinations for promotion to the rank of captain. Mr. M. Rudd, who has been acting as manager at the Union Company’s Christchurch branch for the last nine months, has returned to his post as assistant manager in Auckland. The Rev. H. J. Ryburn, of Kaikohc, has received a unanimous call to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Dunedin. The Rev. Hector Mac Lean, M.A., M.Sc., formerly stationed there, is now in Australia. Mr. R. A. Barnsdale, who has been manager of the Gisborne branch of the National Bank of New Zealand for the last twelve months, has received notice of his appointment as assistant manager of the Christchurch branch of that bank. Professor J. M. E. Garrow, Professor of New Zealand Law, has tendered his resignation to the Victoria College Council.
