Tbe Labour Council meeting last evening was marked by strong scenes, owing to attempts to remove Mr. Armstrong, tbe Clerks’ Union delegate, because be criticised Mr. Jock Garden’s attitude in “Tbe dead men tell no tales” Court case, arising out of the marine cooks’ strike. Attempts to remove Mr. Armstrong were futile, and after a scuffle the chairman adjourned tbe meeting. Mr. Armstrong blames the Communists for the trouble.
