“RAMONA” AT EDENDALE
“His Tiger Lady,” starring Adolphe Menjou and Evelyn Brent, will be shown at the Edendale Theatre this evening. Miss Brent portrays the role of a lady of wealth who is wooed and won by an “extra” actor of the Folies Bergere, this role being portrayed by Mr. Menjou. She is ardently admired by three of the most prominent characters in Paris, but when she asks them to enter a tiger’s cage in order to prove their love they find it too difficult to muster the courage. Menjou, too, is asked to perform this deed, and the outcome of this episode forms one of the most entertaining pictures the Paramount star has yet done. “Ramona,” the beautiful Dolores Del Rio photo-play, will also be presented this evening. Joan. Crawford. M.-G.-M. beauty and talented young star of the future, has been awarded the coveted title role in “Adrienne Lecouvreur,” the famous French play which will be directed for the screen by Fred Niblo. A particularly fine supporting cast is now being selected, and so far includes Xils Asther, Aileen Pringle, Carmel Myers. Warner Oland and Harry Myers. A world’s record for a horse jump was set during the filming of Glenn Trj-on’s starring vehicle. “Hot Heels.” whesn Red Head. a trick pimping horse, made a leap of 29 feet 3 inches, beating his former record of 27 feet 6 inches. Patsy Ruth Miller plays opposite Tryon, while others in the cast include Gretel Yoltz. James Bradburv, senr.. Tod Sloan, and Lloyd Whitlock. William James Craft directed.
