NEW REGENT
“HOT NEWS” TO-MORROW This evening' will see the final presentation of the current programme at the New Regent Theatre. The pictorial side of this programme is headed by a thrilling story of the intimate lives of law-breakers and the women who follow them to death or prison. This is “Ladies of the Mob,” starring Clara Bow and Richard Arlen. To-morrow an entirely new programme, both of pictures and dancing and of music, will be presented. The new picture is an essentially modern one, entitled “Hot News,” starring Bebe Daniels. A lifetime of thrills crowded into one hectic week well describes this picture. Careening through the air in a breeches buoy, a sinking ship at one end of the line and her deadliest rival on the other, a fight with a jewel thief on his yacht at sea, escapade in a speeding automobile, a clash with a super-sensitive Rajah at a garden party and a love scene on the Statue of Liberty’s eyelashes, are just a few of the things that Bebe Daniels went through during the making of “Hot News.”' She plays the' part of a newsreel camera, girl, whose quest for news of the most torrid variety leads her into all sorts of dangers and complications. While thrilling to a high degree, the humorous side of the situation is never for a moment forgotten. New dances, jazz numbers and ballets will also be presented to-morrow by the popular Regent Revels. Mr. Maurice Diamond, the dancing master, has trained the "ballet at many fascinating concerted dances, and a dazzling programme will result.
