FRENCH CABINET CRISIS CONFIDENCE IN POINCARE (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) fAustralian and N.Z. Press Association) PARIS, Wednesday. There is now every appearance of a happy termination to the political crisis. It is thought that M. Poincare will lead a new Ministry of the National Union. The President, M. Doumergue, held conferences with the leaders, which continued all day. He is said to have been convinced that this plan would solve the difficulty. M. Paul Boncour, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, is sanguine. He lays stress on the importance of the continuation of France’s present foreign policy, especially in view of the Big Six discussions at Geneva. The Bourse closed strong. Stocks weakened by the crisis recovered quickly. “Le Temps” says the crisis was due to the action of an irresponsible club at a furtive night session. “L’Oeuvre” plainly asserts that the vote at the Radical Congress was obtained by fraud. The negotiations for the appointment of the committee of experts on the reparation problem are held up, and it is not likely that the members will be named before December. It is expected that the conference will be opened in Paris and will meet later in Berlin, its work continuing until the spring. The Paris Municipal Council unanimously passed a resolution affirming that it is in the national interests that M. Poincare should reconstitute the Government.
