SPENT PROMISED FORTUNE
SALVATION ARMY WOMAN DISAPPEARS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Tuesday. A search is proceeding for Mrs. Margaret Olive Johnson, of the Salvation Army. who is well known in Essex. She disappeared the day before she was according to her own statement, to inherit a fortune of £74,000 from an Australian relative. Some months ago she announced the good fortune that was coming to her, and said she proposed to expend a portion of it in furthering reliigous work. She ordered a luxurious motor-car. engaged a chauffeur, and commissioned a firm to construct four houses, one of which she placed at the disposal of the Salvation Army officers. In the meantime, it is stated, she obtained advances of money until her inheritance was received.
