“RED” LABOUR

MR. HARRIS’S CHARGE Speaking to about 40 or 50 electors in the Narrow Neck Hall last evening, Mr. A. Harris, Independent Reformer, having explained his reasons for adopting an independent attitude and strongly criticised the Ward scheme for borrowing, reiterated his charge that the Labour Party was as “red” as ever. He quoted Mr. Lee, speaking at Dargaville in May last, in support of his contention. He also stated that the Labour Party, which had adopted a 28-plank platform at its annual conference, now published only 14 of the planks; he had a copy of the whole 28-plank policy. There was only one party he could honestly support. He was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence.
