EMPIRE BROADCAST
SUCCESSFUL TEST REHEARSAL OF BIG CRICKET MATCH (United P.A. —By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and 2V'.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11.30 a.m. LONDON, Wed. Probably the finest Empire broadcast from Sydney was picked up from 2ME. Sydney, to-night, on a wavelength of 28J metres. It was the rehearsal of the pre- , paratioii for Saturday’s cricket match, ! M.C.C. 'v. New South Wales. The broadcast of gramophone records was crystal-like, and Boyd Edkin’s motoring talk was as clear as j London’s best, the whole being en- ; tirely without distortion and free from atmospherics. The Australian Press Association understands that 8.8. C. is sympathetically considering the suggestion j that its short-wave length station ! SSW be used to pick up Saturday’s ; broadcast, relaying it round the world and back to Australia. In the event of the same splendid , standard as to-night’s test it will without doubt be heard everywhere.
