TRIED TO STEAL £20,000
AUSTRALIAN “CON” MEN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Sunday. The authorities at Scotland Yard issued a description of three men who were wanted for an alleged attempt to practise the confidence trick upon a rich man in London. The sum involved was £20,000. The men were described as an “associated Australian gang of confidence tricksters.” One of the wanted men, named Barker, has been arrested. He is to be charged with being concerned in an attempt to steal the £20,000 from Dr. Graham, an Australian.
