VIGOROUS REFUTATION LABOUR HELPS MR. B. BUNN A vigorous reply to slanderou, ; rumours concerning him was made v. Mr. Bertram Bunn. Reform | for Manukau at his meeting i n « : Alexandra. Theatre. Mr. Bunn said that slanderous stat e ments were being circulated through out the electorate, and he had aj authority of Mr. Bust, secretary of jjr Jordan's committee, to say that the Labour Party was in no way respo., sible for these rumours, and emph&ti cally desired to dissociate itself such unfair tactics. He was convinced that Labour was conducting the fight cleanly. Mr. Bust then addressed the me« ing. endorsing all that Mr. Bunn had said. The candidate then went on to sav that he had been accused of being - •'carpet" soldier, and in refutation of
this he gave details of his three »».j a-half years’ service at the war.
After his policy speech, the candidate was accorded a vote of thanks.
