OUT FOR TROUT

SPORTSMEN BUSY ON FIRST DAY

(Special to THE SUN) TOKAANU, Thursday. Though cold winds blew anglers were on the scene early for the opening of the fishing season to-day. The best bag secured this morning on the favourite Matuku fly at The Delta camp, within two hours, was 11 good fish, the largest weighing 9flb. Many trolling parties had most successful sport, the catches on the whole averaging 6£lb. The fish show a decided improvement over those caught at the corresponding period last season. Reports indicate that a strong demand has set in from overseas for hotel and fishing camp accommodation. The new regulations adopted by the Internal Affairs Department appear to be giving general satisfaction.
