INJURED IN ACCIDENT
BAKER AWARDED DAMAGES Press Association TIMARU, Wednesday. A claim for £B3B from John Underhill, a baker, arising from a motor collission in which plaintiff suffered a fracture of the thigh and jaw and concussion, was made by William Anderson, millowner, in the Supreme Court to-day. It was stated that the medical bill amounted to £lls and the hospital bill to £SO. Plaintiff was riding a motor-bicycle with a side-chair attached, at night, and a collision occurred with defendant’s motor-van, which was alleged to have been unlighted. The defence alleged that plaintiff was on the wrong side of the road, but this was denied by plaintiff. After a retirement of three and a-half hours the jury returned a verdict for plaintiff for £638. Leave was granted defendant to move ff r a new trial.
