HOSTILE RECEPTION
SIR J. SIMON AT LAHORE BARBED-WIRE BARRIERS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) DELHI, Wednesday. Sir John Simon, chairman, and the members of the Indian Commission, met with a hostile reception on their arrival at Lahore.
Thousands of Nationalist demonstrators attempted to rush the barbedwire barriers around the station. Stones were thrown at the police, who retaliated and injured several prominent Nationalist leaders. These included Lala Lajpat Rai. A commission boycott procession in the evening was dispersed by the police.
